The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: While at Penn State I was a member of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corp. On graduation day, which was August the 29, 1974, I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and began my career as a Communications-Electronics Officer. For the next 20 years I was a member of a special group of men and women serving the United States. During those 20 years I had many memorable job experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything else, met my husband, became the mother of two wonderful children. When I retired from the Air Force, I took a year off from working, then went back to work for the Department of Defense at the Defense Information Systems Agency. I still support the warfighter everyday by providing state-of-the-art information technology systems. For the past ten years I have really enjoyed the slower pace of life. I take time to participate in different activities and enjoy watching my children become adults. My son attends the University of Maryland University College; however, my daughter attends Penn State. We might be able to start a tradition. My years at PSU were really great. I AM PENN STATE PROUD!! |
